Entertainer Help Guide
Everything you need to get discovered and booked
Getting Started
Welcome to BookingEventEntertainment.com. Whether you're a comedian, band, magician, DJ, dancer, MC, variety act or speaker, the goal is the same: give planners enough to say “that's the one.” Create a free account, fill in your profile, and you'll start appearing in searches once you're approved.
The profiles that get booked are the complete ones. A photo, a good reel and an honest fee range will do more for you than anything else on this page.
Choosing Your Act Types
Pick every type that genuinely applies to you — planners filter by these, so each one is another way to be found. A musician who also MCs should tick both. A magician who works kids' parties and corporate galas should say so.
Can't find your exact act? Use the “Not listed? Add your own” box under the type list. What you type becomes a real, searchable type — so niche acts aren't left out.
Be honest here. Ticking types you don't really perform gets you in front of the wrong planners and earns declines, which hurts you more than the extra exposure helps.
Your Photo
One strong image, well lit, where you're recognisably you doing what you do. Action shots work brilliantly for bands, circus and dance; a clean headshot suits speakers and MCs. Square format, at least 400×400. JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 5MB.
Video Reels
This is the single biggest factor in getting booked. Planners want to see you in front of a real audience before they commit.
- Lead with your best 30 seconds. Nobody watches a 10-minute set — they decide fast.
- Live audience footage beats studio polish. Reactions sell you.
- Show the room you want to be booked for. Corporate work? Show a corporate crowd.
- Multiple reels for multiple types. If you do weddings and festivals, show both.
Higher membership tiers unlock more video slots.
Writing Your Bio
Two things to nail: what you do and who you're right for. Keep the short bio to a punchy line — it's what shows in search results. The full bio is where you earn the booking: your experience, the kinds of events you kill at, what an audience actually gets.
Write naturally, but do mention your city, your act types and the events you play — that's what people search for, and it's indexed by Google.
Setting Your Fees
You can publish a fee range or keep it private and quote per enquiry. Publishing a range gets you fewer, better-matched enquiries — planners self-select, so you waste less time. Hiding it gets you more enquiries, but more mismatches.
Set the range for the work you actually want. If your number moves with travel, show length or crew size, say so in your bio or travel notes.
Where You'll Travel
Set your home city and how far you'll go — local, national, or international. Planners filter by location, and being clear here keeps you out of enquiries you'd only decline. If you're happy to travel for the right fee, say that plainly.
Tech & Space Needs
Bands, DJs, circus and variety acts: spell out what you need — stage size, power, sound, load-in time, ceiling height. Planners appreciate knowing early, and it prevents the awkward day-of surprise that turns a good gig into a bad review.
Testimonials & Past Clients
Add testimonials from any client — they don't have to be platform bookings. Named companies and venues carry weight; “Corporate client, Toronto” carries less than a logo a planner recognises. Reviews from actual platform bookings are separate and are tied to verified bookings.
Membership Plans
A free profile works. Paid plans (Basic, Pro, Elite) get you more video slots, more social links, analytics, better placement in search, and a lower booking commission. You can upgrade or cancel any time from your dashboard — cancel and you keep paid features until the billing period ends, then drop to free automatically.
Booking Requests
When a planner requests you, you'll get an email. Respond quickly — the window is short, and if you don't reply the request moves on to someone else. You can accept with a quote, decline, or counter with different details.
If you decline, a quick reason helps us match you better next time.
Your Profile Across the Network
BookingEventEntertainment.com is part of a connected network, and that works in your favour: one profile, one login, more audiences. If you're a comedy or motivational act, your profile is also featured on ComedySpeaker.com — at no extra cost and with nothing extra to do. You'll see badges showing which sites you appear on.
Have a look for yourself — BookingEventEntertainment.com, ComedySpeaker.com , EventMatchmaker.com & HypnotistShow.com . Each opens in a new tab, and your login works on all of them.
Getting Found
- Complete the profile. Half-finished profiles rank and convert badly.
- More and better reels. The one thing worth redoing.
- Tick every act type that truly applies — each is a search entry point.
- Collect reviews after each booking.
- Write like a human about real events and your real city.
- Upgrade if you want priority placement.
