Asia comes from a family of African, Indian, Native American, Scottish, Jewish, Portuguese People. Her Trinidadian musical innovator grandfather and his hardworking wife moved from TnT to Brooklyn in 1969 to perform the steel pan in America. Asia was born and raised in Boston, MA.
Her influences range from Gospel artists like Mahalia Jackson to Hip Hop acts like Public Enemy.
